A-Abel Family of Companies

In today’s episode of “be persistent “ and “learning things”…. Don’t use space heaters. Now, I know we’ve heard not to plug them into extension cords and not to leave them unattended (Thank the Lord we didn’t) but today we learned just don’t use them at all unless you have dedicated outlet directly from the breaker box with nothing else on it. We had our space heater plugged in and were In the same room while it slowly melted this outlet. Thankfully we decided to leave and when we went into a different room the smell was strong. We unplugged it to find the plug melting into the outlet and it was HOT. We turned the breaker off and called a local electrician where we left a message then texted them a photo as well. We never received a call back. We turned the breaker back on eventually and it continued to warm up so we kept it off. I waited until the next day and called A-Abel Family of Companies and they answered immediately. When I told them what had happened they sent a tech out the same day. They also sent a photo and a bio about the Jeremy the technician so I would “know him” when he showed up. He was fantastic, friendly, and showed us the problem and explained why it happened and what would’ve happened eventually if left alone. I’m very thankful that we only had to replace an outlet
